At CeBIT 2007 in Germany, Samsung launched a wireless IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) STB (Set-Top Box), SMT-H6155, in collaboration with STMicroelectronics and Metalink. Samsung's SMT-H6155, incorporating STMicroelectronics's STi7109 HD (High-Definition) video decoder chip and Metalink's 802.11n WLANPlus (Wireless LAN) chipset, is able to receive HD TV content over an 802.11n-based WLAN. This high-end IPTV STB is targeted at Asian and European markets, where IPTV is more prevalent than the rest of the world.
